چکیده

Abstract We address the dynamics of two-dimensional (2D) truncated Airy waves (TAWs) and three-component solitons in system two fundamental-frequency (FF) second-harmonic (SH) fields, coupled by quadratic ( χ ( 2 stretchy="false">) ) terms. The models second–harmonic-generating optical media atomic-molecular mixtures Bose–Einstein condensates. In addition to stable solitons, maintains truncated-Airy-waves states either one FF components, represented exact solutions, which are stable, unlike degenerate (two-component) system. It is also possible imprint vorticity onto 2D modes. By means systematic simulations, we examine interactions between TAWs originally carried different bending opposite directions, through SH field. interaction leads fusion input into a pair narrow solitons. This opposed what happens 1D system, where interacting Aity split large number carrying identical imprinted vorticities creates an additional while create set small-amplitude ‘debris’ output. Slowly moving colliding with heavy TAW bounce back, faster ones absorbed it, collisions quasi-elastic for fast Soliton-soliton lead merger single mode, or elastic passage, lower higher velocities, respectively.

Three-wave solitons and continuous waves in media with competing quadratic and cubic nonlinearities.

We formulate a general model of three-wave optical interactions (in the spatial domain), which combines quadratic (chi(2)) and cubic (chi(3)) nonlinearities, the latter including four-wave mixing. The model can be realized in chi(2) materials where an effective chi(3) nonlinearity is engineered by means of the quasi-phase-matching technique. Both self-focusing and self-defocusing chi(3) nonline...

Stability of Three-Wave Parametric Solitons in Diffractive Quadratic Media.

Analysis of wave interaction in nonlinear media is a fundamental problem of nonlinear physics. Resonant interaction is especially interesting since it leads to an energy exchange between waves of different carrier frequencies. In a medium without the center of symmetry, quadratic nonlinearity results in parametric three-wave mixing when two waves create a third wave at a combined frequency v3 ...

Solitons shedding from Airy beams and bound states of breathing Airy solitons in nonlocal nonlinear media

We investigate the spatially optical solitons shedding from Airy beams and anomalous interactions of Airy beams in nonlocal nonlinear media by means of direct numerical simulations. Numerical results show that nonlocality has profound effects on the propagation dynamics of the solitons shedding from the Airy beam. It is also shown that the strong nonlocality can support periodic intensity distr...

Two-color surface solitons in two-dimensional quadratic photonic lattices

We study two-color surface solitons in two-dimensional photonic lattices with quadratic nonlinear response. We demonstrate that such parametrically coupled optical localized modes can exist in the corners or at the edges of a square photonic lattice, and we analyze the impact of the phase mismatch on their properties, stability, and the threshold power for their generation. © 2009 Optical Socie...

Two-dimensional solitary waves in media with quadratic and cubic nonlinearity

We determine the existence and stability regimes of bright 211-dimensional spatial solitary waves in media with quadratic ~or x ! and focusing cubic nonlinearities. We derive a necessary criterion for linear stability of these solitons, and use it to show that the quadratic nonlinearity enables stable solitons to exist when the cubic nonlinearity is sufficiently weak. We discuss why the Vakhito...
